Cedar Creek Lake Cottage Rentals

Luxury Lakeside Cottages · Couple’s Getaway
Adult-Only Retreat · Group Getaways

Sunrise Point is an adults-only cottage retreat on a private three-acre peninsula on Cedar Creek Lake in East Texas, about 90 minutes southeast of Dallas. Our guests tend to say one of two things when they arrive: pictures just don’t do this place justice, or you mean we have access to all three acres? Both are true.

Each cottage offers a boutique experience. We have a huge saltwater pool that overlooks Cedar Creek Lake. Along with an 8-person hot tub, full size, lakeside pickleball court, kayaks, paddleboards, lakefront fire pit with eight Adirondack chairs. There is seating outside for 8 next to the pool and under the tree canopy.

Our four cottages are: the Cardinal, the Bluebird, the Hummingbird, and the Goldfinch. Each one is 450 square feet, with a queen adjustable bed, a kitchenette, cozy seating, and your private patio all facing the water. They sit on 1,800 feet of private Cedar Creek Lake waterfront. Each cottage was designed to provide privacy.

Book one cottage for two. Or book all four cottages and the peninsula belongs to your group, up to eight adults. Sue and Ann live on the property, so what you see in the photos is what you experience.

Every small detail was thought about
From the second you drive onto the property, you can tell so much thought and care was put into this place. The cabin interiors have so many great little luxury touches, and despite being side by side, you largely get the illusion of being on your own when you’re sitting outside on your personal patio. The infinity pool is fabulous, and we made an effort to get in, despite the weather being slightly cooler than we would’ve liked. The mini fridge in the kitchenette holds everything you’d need it to for a 3-4 day trip. In fact, the kitchenette itself is so well stocked with cooking supplies that the only thing I’d recommend bringing to grill out is a cutting board, and if you’re a real grill-master, a cooking surface to put on the grill for anything other than burgers/dogs. My husband and I totally overpacked on kitchen/grill supplies! Each cabin having its own fire pit and grill is another incredible luxury touch. You can truly tell every small detail was thought about with so much care. There are so many different places to sit and watch the sun rise or set, read a book, watch the birds, or just enjoy being on the lake. This is the perfect lake escape from Big D. My husband and I came here for a “mini moon” after our wedding weekend, and our hosts were so lovely and left us a congratulations gift in our cabin. We can’t wait to come back!!!

What makes these Cedar Creek Lake cottages different?

Privacy and design.

Sunrise Point sits on its own peninsula with water on three sides. No through-traffic. No strangers wandering past your patio. Only adult guests who came for the same quiet and fun you did.

Unlike a large rented lake house or a resort, each couple has their own cottage, and the peninsula is shared by a handful of adults, not a crowd. Set in a grove of oak trees, the cottages offer more than a place to sleep near the water. Every cottage was custom-built rather than converted.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the lake the moment you walk in, and motorized shades let you choose how much of it you want to view. The limestone exterior ties each cottage to the bird it is named for.

Sue and Ann live on the property, so the details are right and the photos are honest.

This is a true retreat from the everyday, and a different kind of Cedar Creek Lake lodging: cared for the way an inn is, not a rental house.

What is included in each cottage?

What is there to do on the three-acre property?

With 1,800 feet of Cedar Creek Lake shoreline and three acres of natural beauty, Sunrise Point is your outdoor playground. Play a set on the private pickleball court just steps from your cottage. Lounge by the saltwater pool or soak in the hot tub. Push a kayak or paddleboard off the private dock and explore the lake at your own pace. Fish or watch for birds from the dock, or take on the disc golf course, horseshoes, and putting green.

Then slow down. Immerse yourself in the lake, watch deer graze quietly on the property, and keep an eye out for our resident fox. Whether you are sharing a meal under the open sky, laughing with friends, reading a good book, or taking a quiet nap, you will find the space to reconnect with nature, the people you came with, or yourself.

I hesitate to share this place
My boyfriend and I chose this location based on the recommendation of a friend. It was our first getaway as a couple, and I can't say enough about how absolutely perfect it was. The owners have literally carved out a magical and serene slice of heaven. Everything is geared towards focusing on each other and the beautiful sounds and sights of nature! We saw deer, fox, squirrels, birds, fish. The pool, hot tub, dock swing, plenty of seating, INCREDIBLE views, thoughtful amenities, modern cottages...all added up to a much needed break from the stress of day to day life. I hesitate to share this secret, but I won't be selfish. If you need a break, run don't walk to reconnect with nature, yourself, and each other!

Is there pickleball at Sunrise Point?

Yes, and it is the only private lakeside pickleball court on Cedar Creek Lake. Step out of your cottage, walk across the driveway, and you are on the court, eight feet from the water with the lake as your backdrop.

The court is exclusive to cottage guests, so there is no waiting, no reservations, and no strangers on the other side of the net. Book all four cottages and you can bring up to eight adults for a pickleball weekend that is entirely your own.

Which cottage should you book?

All four are the same size with the same high standard. They differ slightly in light and color. Each is angled to provide privacy while views of the water. Choose from The Goldfinch cottage with ADA amenities, or The Bluebird, The Cardinal and The Hummingbird.

Can you book the whole property for a group?

Yes. Book all four cottages and the entire peninsula is yours, sleeping up to eight adults with no other guests on the property. Everyone gets their own cottage, their own bed, and their own patio, while the pool, pickleball court, dock, and fire pit belong to your group. It is the easy answer for a family or friends reunion, girls’ getaway, or a pickleball tournament: one place, no strangers. Book All Four Cottages.

Stop looking and book this place
Stop looking and book this place. Beautiful surroundings you can watch the birds and the lake waking up in the morning. Thoughtful touches all over. We ate out one night, we grilled in the other. It was so fun. The hosts are amazing and friendly and obviously love what they do. We did see other people, but it still felt very private. Kayaking around was fun.
