Sunrise Point sits on its own peninsula with water on three sides. No through-traffic. No strangers wandering past your patio. Only adult guests who came for the same quiet and fun you did.

Unlike a large rented lake house or a resort, each couple has their own cottage, and the peninsula is shared by a handful of adults, not a crowd. Set in a grove of oak trees, the cottages offer more than a place to sleep near the water. Every cottage was custom-built rather than converted.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the lake the moment you walk in, and motorized shades let you choose how much of it you want to view. The limestone exterior ties each cottage to the bird it is named for.

Sue and Annie live on the property, so the details are right and the photos are honest.

Each of our four cottages offers a boutique experience tailored to your stay:

With 1,800 feet of Cedar Creek Lake shoreline and three acres of natural beauty, Sunrise Point is your outdoor playground. Play a set on the private pickleball court just steps from your cottage. Lounge by the saltwater pool or soak in the hot tub. Push a kayak or paddleboard off the private dock and explore the lake at your own pace. Fish or watch for birds from the dock, or take on the disc golf course, horseshoes, and putting green.

Then slow down. Immerse yourself in the lake, watch deer graze quietly on the property, and keep an eye out for our resident fox. Whether you are sharing a meal under the open sky, laughing with friends, reading a good book, or taking a quiet nap, you will find the space to reconnect with nature, the people you came with, or yourself.

Yes, and it is the only private lakeside pickleball court on Cedar Creek Lake. Step out of your cottage, walk across the driveway, and you are on the court, eight feet from the water with the lake as your backdrop.

The court is exclusive to cottage guests, so there is no waiting, no reservations, and no strangers on the other side of the net. Book all four cottages and you can bring up to eight adults for a pickleball weekend that is entirely your own.

All four are the same size with the same high standard. They differ slightly in light and color. Each is angled to provide privacy while views of the water. Choose from The Goldfinch cottage, with a no-step entry and a walk-in shower with grab bars, or The Bluebird, The Cardinal and The Hummingbird.

• Book All Four Cottages. Reserve the whole peninsula for a group of up to eight, ideal for reunions, girls’ getaways, and pickleball crews.

Adults, 25 and up. Couples reconnecting, friends on a getaway, solo guests who want real quiet, and groups who take the whole peninsula. 

Because Sue and Ann live on site, solo and first-time guests tell us they feel looked after without being managed. Safety is also important. Sunrise Point has a gated entrance, and keypads to each cottage.

Yes. Because it's the closest cottage to the lake and set apart from the others in the row, the Cardinal has the strongest sense of privacy of any cottage at Sunrise Point. If quiet and distance from other guests matter most to your stay, this is the one to check first.

You can. The Cardinal sits slightly closer to the shoreline than other cottages, and on a calm evening the water is part of the soundtrack on your patio, not just the view.

Because it's the closest cottage to the water, the Cardinal tends to be requested early for weekends and holiday stretches. If you have specific dates in mind, check availability above sooner rather than later.

Yes. Every cottage, including the Cardinal, has a two-night minimum, three nights on holiday weekends.

The lake, mostly. The Bluebird looks out over a long, open vista up Cedar Creek Lake, with the property's birdfeeders just outside and a private hammock near the patio for napping or reading between lake views.

Both. Birdfeeders are set up around the property, and the Bluebird's vista makes it an easy spot to watch the lake wake up in the morning, whether you're intentionally birdwatching or just enjoying coffee on the patio.

Depends on what you're after.

Romance / couple's getaway: summer when kids are away and it’s time for a couples escape or cooler months for a mini-retreat. November through April is quieter on the lake but our hot tub runs year-round.

Solo getaway: spring or fall, when the property is calmer.

Girls' getaway: summer, when the saltwater pool (open May through October) and the pickleball court gets the most use.

Family or friends getaway: late spring through early fall, when your group can spread across the pool, dock, lake fun, pickleball and fire pit.

Yes. Every cottage at Sunrise Point is angled and spaced for privacy no matter where it sits in the row, and the Hummingbird is no exception. What being centrally located actually gets you is convenience: it's the shortest walk to the pool, the pickleball court, and the dock, no matter which one you head to first.

Not really. Every cottage at Sunrise Point faces the lake with its own patio and water view. The Hummingbird's position just means an easy walk to everything else on the property, not a step back from the water.

Yes, and it's an easy pairing since the Hummingbird sits in the middle of the row. Guests bringing adult family or friends often book it alongside the neighboring cottages so everyone's close together for the weekend. The Goldfinch was designed with some extra accessibility in mind. No-step entry and a walk-in shower with grab bars.

A little more social, if you want it to be. The Goldfinch opens onto the shared fire pit and has the widest view of the lake and property of any cottage, so it's a natural gathering spot in the evenings, while still giving you your own private patio and pool access.
